International Kiteboarding Organization - International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) offers Instructor Training Courses to train and register instructors for kiteboarding and certification programs for students of kiteboarding. KSM has been affiliated with IKO since 2002.

Maui Kitesurfing Community - The Maui Kitesurfing Community (MKC) is a nonprofit organization supporting and enhancing recreational kitesurfing on Maui. Kiteboarders are encouraged to join MKC to help maintain the mandated Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) waiver, which allows kiteboarding within five miles of the Kahului airport on the North Shore of Maui.
